A former New York playwright-actor, he lives with his wife in Edmonds, WA. Most of his eight plays have been produced in New York before moving onto other stages.

Some have won prizes - for himself and those who acted in or directed them. His plays have been published by the U. of Minn. Press and Samuel French, Inc. Recent acting stints include Robert Duvalls Doctor in the TV mini-series, Lonesome Dove- The Sheriff in Funny Farm- and Meg Ryans father in Sleepless In Seattle. His song lyric, The Dark Wind of Missouri - (music and vocal by Chris Jones) - was on The Bluegrass Charts for more than a year.
